People in the News: Sharon Barr, Take Ogawa, Thomas Kanar, and Susan Tang


Bina Technologies has hired Sharon Barr as its vice president of engineering, Take Ogawa as its director of field sales, Thomas Kanar as its chief financial officer, and Susan Tang as senior product manager.

Barr comes to Bina from Couchbase, a NoSQL database technology company based in Mountain View, CA, where he was VP of engineering. Prior to that, he was director of engineering at Yahoo. He holds a B.A. in computer science and economics from Tel Aviv University and earned his MBA at San Jose State University.

Ogawa joins the company after holding increasingly senior commercial roles at Complete Genomics, RainDance Technologies, Roche, and Invitrogen. He has a degree in chemical engineering from Oregon State University

Kanar joins Bina from Autonet Mobile, where he served as its CFO. Before that, he was the CFO at Coapt Systems. He holds a B.A. in accounting from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.

Finally, Tang comes to Bina after working previously at DNAnexus, Pacific Biosciences, and Life Technologies.
