Maverix Biomics has hired Paul Pickering to serve as its chief operating officer. In his new role, Pickering will lead the company's sales, marketing, business development, and product management efforts.

Prior to moving to Maverix, Pickering was most recently the general manager and head of Life Technologies' Digital PCR business unit. He's also been in charge of other Life Tech divisions including its sample preparation, bioproduction, and cell therapy businesses.

Pickering holds a Masters in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a Doctorate in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Bath.
