People in the News: Mariana Kuras

Ariana Pharma, a provider of an association rules-based clinical data analysis technology, has tapped Mariana Kuras to serve as its chief technology officer.

Prior to joining the company, Kuras worked for eight years as the director of research at Biosystems International. In this role, she was responsible for the development and validation of biomarker platform technologies focused on the application of antibodies in oncology and neurodegenerative diseases.

She has also served as a genomics and bioinformatics scientist at Pfizer Global Research and Development, and as an independent scientific expert for the sixth and seventh framework of the European Commission.

Kuras obtained a PhD in biophysics and computational biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
