The Broad Institute has tapped Louis Gerstner to chair its board of directors.
Gerstner succeeds outgoing chair, Diana Chapman Walsh, who will continue to serve on the board as vice chair.
Gerstner joined the Broad’s board in 2010. Prior to that, he served as CEO and chairman of IBM’s board and also as chairman of the Carlyle Group. He’s also held leadership positions at RJR Nabisco and American Express.
Gerstner received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Dartmouth College in 1963 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1965.
