Eric Schadt has been appointed to an external scientific panel for the Genotype-Tissue Expression, or GTEx, project launched last week by the National Institutes of Health.

Schadt is chief scientific officer at Pacific Biosciences and a co-founder of Sage Bionetworks. He was previously executive scientific director of genetics at Merck subsidiary Rosetta Inpharmatics.
