Life sciences search engine provider NextBio has appointed Andrew Grygiel as vice president of marketing.

Grygiel will lead the firm's overall global marketing efforts, including branding, positioning, public relations, and product marketing.

Prior to joining NextBio he was senior vice president of global marketing at Orchestria, a company that helps customer minimize information loss by monitoring all electronic communications.

Before Orchestria, he was vice president of global industries for EMC's information and content management software group where he was responsible for industry marketing and development, which contributed to the company's 20 percent plus year-over-year license revenue growth

Grygiel has also held positions at Documentum, InnaPhase, Hewlett-Packard, and PerkinElmer.
