David Sexton has joined Sapio Sciences as director of consulting.

Sexton previously was director of the Computational Genomics Core at Vanderbilt University.

At Sapio, he will work with the company's Exemplar LIMS customers and will also oversee the firm's services offering for next-generation sequencing data management and analysis.

Anuradha Acharya, founder and CEO of Ocimum Biosolutions, has been named a 2011 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

The organization this year named 190 Young Global Leaders, a distinction that recognizes "professional achievements, commitment to society at large, and prospective contribution to shaping the global future."
