Patronus Medical Taps BaseHealth's Software to Improve Wellness Program

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – BaseHealth announced today that private health management company Patronus Medical will use BaseHealth's predictive analytics platform to create personalized health assessments and wellness plans for patients in the Patronus wellness program.

The BaseHealth predictive-analytics engine is expected to go live under the Patronus Health brand immediately, the company said. The partnership provides Patronus physicians with tools to create personalized action plans for their patients, set goals, track achievements, and identify emerging trends, both in individuals and in different populations. Patients in the program will have unrestricted access to their wellness plans and tools to monitor and manage health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and osteoarthritis.

"BaseHealth's evidence-based assessments allow our physicians, in person and online, to make smarter treatment decisions and wellness recommendations based on the most accurate, personalized, and scientifically sound data available," Patronus Chief Medical Officer Robert Darling said in a statement. "By leveraging the power of BaseHealth's advanced healthcare-analytics engine, we're now able to give our patients the power of personalized medicine, wherever they are."

With the new wellness offering, added BaseHealth CEO Prakash Menon, "we expect to see Patronus' population health improve while patient engagement increases."

BaseHealth's assessment engine combines genetic, clinical, environmental, and lifestyle information to assess patients' risk of developing more than 40 common and complex diseases. The system also offers patients information on possible drug responses based on their medical histories and genetic results, as well as food lists ranked in order of best nutritional fit. The company also offers an application programming interface that lets developers integrate BaseHealth's genomic data and health assessments into health and well-being applications for smart phones and other devices.
