Pangea Teams with Penn To Develop Tools for New Portal,


OAKLAND, Calif.--Pangea Systems announced a sponsored research agreement with the Center for Bioinformatics of the University of Pennsylvania through which the two groups will collaborate on developing new software tools for visualizing biological data. As part of the agreement, Pangea has licensed the center's bioWidgets software development kit to create new data viewers for DoubleTwist, Pangea's integrated web portal for online genetic research. BioWidgets can be used for rapid application development in Java, for development of scientific visualizations, graphics applications, and applets in the genomics domain.
