NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Genalice said this week that the Oxford Biomedical Research Center has purchased the Genalice Vault appliance, which comes pre-loaded with the company's MAP next-generation sequence data processing software, an embedded Oracle database, workflow management software, process control software, and a storage solution.
Genalice said that OxBRC, a center that was formed as a result of a partnership between Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Oxford, purchased one of the larger models of the appliance. The company offers five configurations of its product that differ in terms of the number of MAP servers, available storage capacity, and number of named users.
"MAP produces impressive throughput and storage space reductions," Anna Schuh, clinical lead at the Oxford Molecular Diagnostics Center, said in a statement. "It also detects complex mutations, which is crucial to be able to effectively use NGS data in a clinical setting and a key catalyst in allowing clinical use to contribute to large scale DNA data collection."
Financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Hans Karten, Genalice's CEO and CTO, also said this week that Genalice has opened an office at the Innovation Center in Belfast, Northern Ireland to better support customers in the UK.
