Orchid Collaborates with Genomica, NEN, and Launches SNPstream

PRINCETON, NJ--Orchid Biocomputer and Genomica have signed a collaboration agreement enabling Genomica's Discovery Manager software to be used with Orchid's pharmacogenetics technologies and Genotyping Center of Excellence. Genomica's software will help Orchid increase the speed and efficiency of its proprietary Genetic Bit Analysis technology for single-nucleotide polymorphism analysis, said both companies. Separately, Orchid has also become a partner of NEN Life Science Products in an alliance to co-develop Genetic Bit Analysis and boost Orchid's marketing efforts by supplying NEN proprietary reagents. Under the agreement, NEN has made an undisclosed equity investment in Orchid, which also has launched SNPstream, a fully-automated, high-throughput assay platform for conducting industrial-scale SNP genotyping.
