Oliver Bayliss, Norma Jean Nowak


BioWisdom has appointed Oliver Bayliss as director of sales and business development. Bayliss, who has over ten years of sales experience at Viaken Systems, Accelrys, GCG, Oxford Molecular, and DNAStar, will spearhead the expansion of the company’s worldwide direct sales operation. He will also develop and manage BioWisdom’s channel strategies to deliver the company’s ontologies through a range of third-party tools.


Norma Jean Nowak has been named director of scientific planning for the University at Buffalo Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics. Since 1999, Nowak served as director of the microarray and genomics facility for Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Prior to that, she spent 14 years at Roswell Park developing physical clone resources for cloning disease genes and mapping the human genome.
