Novartis Launches $20M Plant Biotech Expansion


RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC--Novartis plans to expand its plant biotechnology research facility here with a $20 million renovation project slated to begin this week. The project will erect a new building, add greenhouses, and extend and renovate existing laboratories to accommodate new scientists to be hired during the next two years, the company announced.

Novartis Agribusiness Bio tech Research will house 260 researchers who will work closely with Novartis Agribus iness research centers around the world and with the recently announced Novartis Agricul tural Discovery Institute in San Diego.
