NCI Asks Community for Input on Priorities for Cancer Genomics Cloud Pilots

Premium

The National Cancer Institute has issued a request for information asking for the research community's input on deciding scientific analysis and datasets that should take priority during its Cancer Genomics Cloud pilots.

Respondents can vote on a number of analysis priorities currently listed on the RFI, such as looking for correlations between genomic expression and patient survival and normal versus tumor exomic sequence analysis. There's also an option to submit new ideas for consideration.

In June, NCI's Board of Scientific Advisors and the National Cancer Advisory Board approved a proposal to launch three Cancer Genomics Cloud pilots that aim to develop public infrastructure — data repositories and computational resources — for managing and analyzing data from NCI-funded projects like The Cancer Genome Atlas (BI 7/12/2013).
