Molecular Applications Launches DiscoveryBase

PALO ALTO, Calif.--Molecular Applications Group here announced the release of DiscoveryBase, a web-based server application that enables pharmaceutical researchers to work with publicly available genomics data and search algorithms in a secure environment behind their company firewall. Molecular Applications CEO Myra Williams said the product was developed in response to customer requests for a secure, reliable, internal bioinformatics resource. Williams said she found a need "not only for new analytical methods to determine gene function, but also for a product that brings publicly available bioinformatics services in-house where they can be used in a secure environment to study proprietary sequence data."
