Millennium Predictive Medicine Appointments


CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--John Unger was appointed chief scientific officer and Robert Schlegel director of genomics at Millennium Predic tive Medicine (MPM). Unger joins the company--a wholly owned subsidiary of Millennium Pharmaceu ticals--with over 20 years of experience in medical diagnostics. He will lead MPM's effort to build a diagnostics and pharmacogenomics research organization. Previously, he was executive director, new technology research, at Chiron Diagnostics in Medfield, Mass. Schlegel will lead the company's genomics effort in the areas of oncology and chemoprediction. He also came to Millenni um from Chiron, where he headed genomics research. He remains an adjunct associate professor at the Harvard School of Public Health, department of cancer cell biology where he was a full time faculty member for nine years.
