Structural GenomiX, based in San Diego, Calif., has appointed Michael Milburn vice president of structural biology.
Prior to joining Structural GenomiX, Milburn established the structure-based X-ray crystallography and computational chemistry groups at Glaxo Wellcome, where he was responsible for coordinating the informatics needs of the research organization in developing and implementing computational tools.
Gideon Shapiro, CEO and president of EraGen Biosciences of Alachua, Fla., is stepping down in order to pursue other activities, the company said.
Shapiro will continue with the company to assist with its business development and financing and will also remain on the board of directors “for the foreseeable future,” he said.
EraGen did not say who would replace Shapiro. Gary Alianell, formerly president of NucleoTech, has been appointed COO.
