Maxygen Says Energy BioSystems Broke Contract


REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--Maxygen initiated an arbitration proceeding against Energy BioSystems, alleging that it breached confidentiality provisions and other terms of an agreement between the two companies in 1997. Maxygen said it disclosed confidential information about its MolecularBreeding technology to Energy BioSystems and its arbitration proceeding is in regard to Energy BioSystems' claim that it has developed a new gene-shuffling technology.
