NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Bioinformatics firm Systems Imagination announced today that it has partnered with Macrogen's US subsidiary to improve the production and analysis of genomic data.
The firms said they plan to combine Macrogen's sequencing capabilities with Systems Imagination's analysis tools, though they did not specify how. Financial terms of the agreement were also not disclosed.
"Combining the efficiency of the data production and data interpretation will be a powerful tool to create actionable information for precision medicine," Macrogen CEO Sang Tae Park said in a statement.
Scottsdale, Arizona-based Systems Imagination offers several computing and "big data" analysis services to healthcare and biotech customers. CEO Chris Yoo added that the partnership with Macrogen offers his company the opportunity to "provide our customers an integrated solution whereby data generation is optimized and paired with innovative on-demand analytics to drive drug development."
Macrogen has signed similar partnership deals in recent months, including a joint research agreement with the National Cancer Center Korea and an assay development agreement with Silicon Biosystems Menarini.
