Lion Bioscience and PerkinElmer have jointly launched SNPscorer, a software package for SNP genotype analysis. Lion developed the software, which the companies said automates genotyping analysis, with PerkinElmer’s AcycloPrime-FP genotyping reagents and instruments.

Spotfire has released DecisionSite Posters, an extension of the com-pany’s Guided Analytics applications that allows users to capture and share decisions across an enterprise. DecisionSite Posters stores the key data and analytical steps from the decision-making process in a searchable library that can be accessed for future analysis. Posters include analytic answers and links to content in the library and allow any user with a Web browser to click through a series of links to re-create the steps of the original analytical process.

Silicon Genetics of Redwood City, Calif., has released GeNet 3.0 and GeneSpring 5.0. New features include a new, sample-centric data storage paradigm that simplifies data manipulation, automated data loading, enterprise-wide expression profile querying tools, implementation of MIAME guidelines, auto-matic homology table generation, 3D visualization tools, and a drag-and-drop user interface.

The South African National Bioinformatics Institute, in collaboration with Electric Genetics, has released version 3.1 of the STACKdb Human Gene Expression Index. The database of reconstructed human expressed transcripts now includes a full-length mRNA index and output reports containing alternate expression forms.
