Lex Cowsert, Ruth Nutt, Charles DeLisi

Automated Cell of Pittsburgh has appointed Lex Cowsert as CSO. Cowsert was previously VP of functional genomics at Vistagen and held a number of scientific management positions at Isis Pharmaceuticals. At Automated Cell, he will head up drug discovery R&D, including work in disease phenotype quantification, molecular biology, cell biology, and bioinformatics.

 

San Diego, Calif.-based Structural Bioinformatics has hired Ruth Nutt as acting head of drug discovery. Nutt, who previously held research positions at Merck and Corvas International, will also join SBI’s scientific advisory board.

 

Charles DeLisi, dean emeritus of Boston University’s College of Engineering and head of the Biomolecular Systems Laboratory at BU’s Center for Advanced Genomic Technology, has joined the scientific advisory board of Bangalore, India-based Strand Genomics.
