CLAREMONT, Calif.--The Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences here announced the appointment of David Galas as chief academic officer. The institute is the newly founded graduate school for life sciences in the Claremont Consortium of Colleges. Galas, an entrepreneur and former professor of molecular biology, will assume the post starting September 1.
Prior to joining the institute, Galas served as president and chief scientific officer of Seattle-based Chiroscience R&D.
The Keck Graduate Institute was founded in March 1997 and is dedicated to training life sciences professionals who can synthesize knowledge of biology, chemistry, computing, engineering, and business to turn the vast potential of the life sciences into applied technologies. The Institute will offer innovative, focused and interdisciplinary graduate-level programs to prepare highly qualified students for professional careers in life-science-based organizations.
