Japanese Pharma Signs Up For Five Celera Databases



OCKVILLE, Md.--Celera Genomics has signed an agreement with Takeda Chemical Industries of Osaka, Japan, that provides a five-year comprehensive subscription to five Celera databases, including its bioinformatics tools and browsers. The Japanese company is now subscribing to Celera's Human Gene Index, SNP database and databases for the Drosophila, human, and mouse genomes. Takeda says it is the largest pharmaceutical company in Japan. It is a research-based global company focused mainly on pharmaceuticals.
