Health Discovery Corp. (formerly Direct Wireless Communications) last week appointed Isabelle Guyon, a former neural network specialist at AT&T Bell Laboratories, to its scientific advisory board. Guyon, an expert in statistical data analysis, pattern recognition, and machine learning, is vice president of the International Unipen Foundation, which oversees a large-scale database of handwritten samples for use in handwriting recognition research. Through her consulting firm Clopinet, Guyon has developed data analysis methods for genomics and proteomics applications in biomarker discovery, among other projects.
