Interactive Biosoftware, Genohm Ink Software Integration Agreement

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Interactive Biosoftware and Genohm have signed an agreement that lets both companies integrate their respective software products.

Genohm is a laboratory management software development company with offices in Europe and the US. The company develops and markets the SLIMS software, which is a laboratory information management system that provides tools for tracking and managing samples among other tasks in the lab. Interactive Biosoftware, based in Rouen, France, develops the Alamut software suite which offers variant interpretation, annotation, and visualization tools.

According to the partners, the SLIMS-Alamut integration will provide customers of both solutions with a comprehensive platform for managing next-generation sequencing workflows that will cover sample management, raw data generation, and variant interpretation and reporting.

It provides "a unique and flexible solution encompassing the full spectrum of components needed for NGS analysis," Interactive's Chief Financial Officer Juliette Renauld said in a statement. "This has been a strong expectation of clinical genetics labs for years and we have found that integrating Alamut components into SLIMS was an excellent opportunity to reach that goal."

Financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Recently, Interactive signed an agreement with Ranomics to offer access to its database of functional information on BRCA1 variants to customers of the Alamut software suite.
