InforMax has released Vector NTI Suite version 5.3 for the Apple Macintosh platform.
The two new features of the product are the ContigExpress sequencing project management and fragment assembly function and a Mac-specific user manual. ContigExpress was previously only available on Windows/PC versions of Vector NTI. The new user manual is available for download as a PDF file from the InforMax website at http://www.informaxinc.com/support/macvnti_530.html.
Alex Titomirov, InforMax’s CEO, said the Mac is and will continue to be an important platform for desktop analysis in molecular biology.
Scientific software provider Media Cybernetics of Silver Spring, Md., has released Array-Pro Analyzer, an image informatics system for high- and low-density arrays and microarrays.
The company said this product provides scientists with more accurate and faster microarray analysis through algorithm-based automation that produces the same analysis results from user to user, so the results can be repeated.
The product also helps users to optimize signal to noise in readings with adjustable control parameters and choices of background methods. Array-Pro Analyzer has been integrated with Applied Maths’ GeneMaths statistical analysis software.
