Lion Bioscience has launched Idea pkExpress, a predictive ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination) solution for lead optimization. The system is built upon the company’s Idea ADME prediction software and includes Lion’s new Distribution and Elimination Model, which enables users to predict the pharmacokinetic parameters of new chemical entities.


MDL Information Systems has released MDL Decision Manager, a collaborative workspace system for drug discovery researchers engaged in lead selection, validation, and optimization.

Liquent has released an updated version of IDRAC, a database of regulatory affairs information for 33 countries. The new version offers a more user-friendly interface and advanced search and navigation features, according to the company.

The Center for Information Technology at the National Institute on Aging has released the Genetic Association Database at http://geneticassociationdb.nih.gov/, which allows users to compare human microarray or proteomic data against human genetic association in the context of common human disease.

ConSite, a program to detect transcription factor binding sites using phylogenetic footprinting, is available from the Center for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics at the University of British Columbia at http://www.phylofoot.org/.
