IDBS, Tibco Spotfire to Integrate Chemistry Software Platforms

Tibco Software and IDBS said this week that they have agreed to integrate IDBS' ActivityBase chemistry data-management platform with the Tibco Spotfire Analytics platform.

The integration will allow ActivityBase customers to search and visualize chemical structures through Tibco Spotfire Lead Discovery 2.1, an analysis environment that enables researchers to build applications for analyzing structure-activity relationships.

"The IDBS chemical structure rendering, substructure, and similarity search functionality — integrated with Tibco Spotfire's powerful analytics platform — enables us to take full advantage of our key applications for data analysis and evaluation," said Jan Selig, senior technical officer at European Molecular Biology Laboratory, in a statement.

Selig added that the integrated platforms allow his team to "concentrate on the most promising compounds, which is allowing us to further investigate potential drug candidates with increasing quality and confidence."
