GTC Wins Biogen Contract, Hits Schering Milestone


WALTHAM, Mass.--Genome Therapeutics has begun work on a sequencing contract for Biogen. Genome Therapeutics will employ its proprietary sequencing techniques, automation, bioinformatics, and quality control procedures to generate desired sequence reads and provide analysis of sequenced regions for Biogen.

Separately, the company announced that it has reached another milestone in its genomics research alliance with Schering-Plough by delivering assays for multiple targets related to two medically important fungal pathogens, Candida albicans and Aspergillus fumigatus. The milestone triggered a payment to Genome Therapeutics.
