Symx, a provider of software, automated workflows and services for improving R&D productivity, has announced the appointment of Gerard Abraham as president of Symyx Tools, which automates and accelerates experimentation through modular systems and integrated high-throughput workflows. Abraham joins Timothy Campbell, president of Symyx Software, and Richard Boehner, head of Symyx Collaborations, in leading the company’s three key business units. Abraham served most recently in several senior positions in the U.S. and overseas at Thermo Fisher Scientific, including president of its process systems and process instruments divisions.
IO Informatics, has formed a working group to focus on semantic applications for hypothesis generation in translational research. The working group’s mandate will be to extend IO Informatics’ technology and user workflow to refine and deliver methods for improved biomarker qualification and hypothesis generation to the translational research community. Its membership will comprise senior life science researchers from industry and research institutes.
