SEATTLE--Geospiza announced that its products will support Amersham Pharmacia Biotech’s MegaBace sequencing platform as well as all major chromatogram file formats. "Sequencing laboratories can now operate different models of DNA sequencers and manage their laboratory information and chromatogram files in a centralized system," said Todd Smith, Geospiza’s president.
The company’s Chromatogram Manager now supports chromatogram files from the PE ABI Prism 310, 373, 377, 3700, and MegaBace in addition to files converted to the Staden Compressed File format. Geospiza also developed a new Finch Suite component, the Finch Instrument Manager, to create the different run files that are used by a sequencing instrument’s data collection software. Run files are used to set run parameters, name chromatogram files, and record sample tracking information.
