PARIS--Genset announced that it has signed a gene libraries agreement with the Genetics Institute unit of Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories, the pharmaceutical division of American Home Products, and is also launching a direct marketing initiative. Pascal Brandys, Genset's chairman and CEO, said, "Having noted growing interest from pharmaceutical and biotech companies to access our expanded gene libraries, we have decided to launch marketing initiatives to better address their needs."
The new agreement with GI replaces an earlier one and will provide GI and Wyeth-Ayerst with rights to use a larger variety of potential products and targets in their internal drug discovery programs.
