Genomica Sells Software To AstraZeneca Division


BOULDER, Colo.--Genomica has licensed its Discovery Manager software to AstraZeneca R&D Molndal of Sweden. Astra Zeneca will use the package, which contains tools for visualization, scientific analysis, and project management as well as a genetic information database, for its multinational drug discovery efforts. Discovery Manager's user interface also facilitates access to proprietary and public domain tools and allows models to display relationships among sets of genetic information. The product also handles data from all phases of gene discovery, including clinical, epidemiology, genetic analysis, and molecular biology components.

Separately, Genomica named Daniel Hudspeth to the position of vice-president of finance and chief financial officer. Hudspeth has 14 years' financial management experience, and was most recently CFO for Communications Systems International, a telecommunications company.
