Genologics Closes Second Round of VC Cash to Help Market Software

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) — Genologics Life Sciences yesterday said it has closed a second round of private equity financing.

Genologics said it plans to use the undisclosed funding primarily to market its bioinformatics software to pharmaceutical labs specializing in proteomics, genomics, and systems biology research.

The financing was led by OVP Venture Partners and included investments from Growth Works and Yaletown Venture Partners.

The company did not disclose the amount of funding it had obtained, but in 2005 the same group of partners, along with Working Opportunity Fund, supplied the company with a total of $5 million in funding.
