GeneGo Licenses MetaCore Data Analysis Suite to Aveo Pharmaceuticals
GeneGo has licensed its MetaCore Data Mining Suite to AVEO Pharmaceuticals. The latest version, MetaCore 4.5, includes GeneGo disease enrichment and functional ontology.
The suite's data management system is designed for automated upload and handling of up to thousands of genome-wide files and is used in both research and clinical groups in drug development, the company said.

Windber Research Chooses GenoLogics Data Management Solution
The US Department of Defense-funded Windber Research Institute has selected GenoLogics to provide an integrated data management solution to support its personalized preventative medicine strategy.
The institute is pursuing a translational medicine strategy and required a laboratory information management/scientific data management system that would mesh its research and clinical/patient data from myriad areas such as genomics, proteomics, and immunology, GeneLogics said.

Interactive Supercomputing Raises Series B Financing
Interactive Supercomputing has received $11 million in new financing from current and new venture capital investors. Investor Ascent Venture Partners, a new funder, led the investor, which included Fletcher Spaght Ventures and current ISC investors Flagship Ventures, Rock Maple Venture, and Common Angels. The additional cash infusion brings ISC's total funding to $18 million.
The financing will enable ISC to extend its Star-P software into new markets and to support additional technical computing languages and libraries, according to the company.
Star-P enables scientists, engineers, and analysts to build algorithms and models on their desktops using tools such as MATLAB, Python, and R, while then running them instantly and interactively on parallel computers, often without modification.
