GeneFormatics Completes $4 M Financing Round Led By Burrill’s AgBio Fund



AN DIEGO--GeneFormatics announced that it has completed a $4 million venture capital financing round led by Burrill’s AgBio Capital Fund with IngleWood Ventures and Moss Forest Venture, among other investors. As part of the financing, John Kim, managing director at Burrill, and Blake Ingle, general partner at IngleWood Ventures, will join GeneFormatics’ board of directors.

The company said it will use the funding to expand its library of Fuzzy Functional Forms, which is used to mine customers’ proprietary protein sequences for novel function; enhance its core protein function prediction technologies; and to license other technologies.
