Gene Myers, group leader at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Farm Research Campus in Ashburn, Va., has joined the scientific advisory board of next-generation sequencing developer Helicos BioSciences. Myers has played a role in the development of Blast and Celera Genomics’ whole-genome sequence assembler and is currently focused on the development of algorithms and software for image analysis.
