Gene Logic Signs Deals For GeneExpress Database

AITHERSBURG, Md.--Gene Logic said it has signed the first two subscribers to its new GeneExpress database suite, a massive reference database of gene expression information. The name of one customer--a top ten pharmaceutical company--is being withheld, and the second subscriber is Therapeutic Genomics.

The database is organized into three modules: BioExpress, a survey of normal and diseased human tissue samples for target discovery and validation; ToxExpress, a survey of human and experimental animal tissue samples treated with known toxic compounds for predictive toxicology assessment; and PharmExpress, a survey of human and experimental animal tissue samples treated with known therapeutic compounds for testing current drug candidates.
