Genalice, Knome to Jointly Offer NGS Analysis Solutions

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Genalice and Knome have formed a partnership that allows both companies to jointly offer their products to customers as a turnkey solution for analyzing and interpreting next-generation sequencing data.

The agreement allows the companies combine the Genalice Map data processing software with KnoSys, Knome's genome interpretation platform. Both products will continue to be offered separately but customers wanting to take advantage of the combined system will be able to reduce analysis bottlenecks and improve their ability to annotate and interpret human genomes, among other benefits, the partners said. Late last year, the Swiss Foundation for People with Rare Diseases selected both companies' solutions to process and analyze its NGS data.

The partnership is a "response to the reality that the amount of NGS data and its increasing usage requires processing and interpreting at an incredible pace," CEO and President of Knome, Wolfgang Daum, said in a statement. "These two products complement each other beautifully in creating a workflow that eliminates many of the frustrations of wrangling NGS data today," Hans Karten, Genalice's CEO, added.
