FinchLab 3.2, GeneTools V4

Geospiza has released FinchLab 3.2.The new version of the company’s genetic analysis workflow- and data-management system provides new analytical capabilities, including secondary analysis for second-generation sequencing.
According to the company, FinchLab 3.2 integrates “best of breed” algorithms to characterize data sets for experiments such as tag profiling.
FinchLab is a web-based system that allows researchers to manage their laboratories across multiple genetic-analysis technologies, including capillary and second-generation sequencing instruments, Geospiza said.

Image-analysis software firm Syngene has launched GeneTools V4.
The new release of the 1D gel image-analysis software package includes new band-matching algorithms that can automatically match bands or profiles by position, Rf value, or calibrated molecular weight, the company said.
