Linguamatics said this week that the US Food and Drug Administration has licensed its I2E text mining platform to support laboratory research efforts around drug safety.
Specifically, the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research will use I2E to mine published literature and drug product labels for information about drug toxicity mechanisms, disease processes, and other biomedical topics.
Linguamatics’ I2E is a natural language processing-based program that enables users to identify, extract, synthesize, and analyze data and relationships between genes, diseases, compounds, and side effects.
Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed
