EU Research Groups Form Epigenome Consortium

ERLIN--Epigenomics, a biotech company here, has teamed up with researchers from several European research centers including the Sanger Center, the Max Planck Institute, the Centre National de Genotypage, the Technical University of Berlin, Medeea, and the German Cancer Research Institute to establish the Human Epigenome Consortium.

The company said the consortium will develop integrated technologies that provide an individual’s epigenotype or digital phenotype first by conducting genome-scale mapping of epigenetic parameters such as DNA-methylation; second, by identifying and analyzing epigenetic loci; and third, by comparing epigenetic information from different organisms.
