NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Edico Genome has collaborated with Illumina to make its Dragen bioinformatics processor for next-generation sequence data available on Illumina's BaseSpace Sequence Hub.

BaseSpace Sequence Hub is a cloud-based platform where Illumina customers can access applications developed by Illumina or third parties.

Edico's Dragen uses a field programmable gate array to provide a range of algorithms, including those for mapping, sorting, and variant calling, according to the company. It allows for the analysis of a whole human genome in less than 10 minutes.
