Biomatters has released version 5.0 of its Geneious Pro sequence analysis software.
The upgrade supports bacterial genome assembly for data generated by Illumina, 454, SOLiD, Helicos and other sequencers. The new version also offers improved visualization and browsing capabilities, the company said.
In addition, Biomatters said that it is currently beta-testing a new software product called Geneious Server that will allow users to move sequence analysis tasks to servers and supercomputers.
Release 5 of Ensembl Genomes is available here.
The new version includes software migration to Ensembl 58, six new bacterial genomes, two new protist genomes, one new fungal genome, and updates to the variation databases for A. thaliana, O. sativa japonica and V. vinifera.
