Downloads and Upgrades: Bina Annotation Platform, and DNAnexus

Premium

This week, Bina Technologies released the Bina Annotation Platform, a new cloud-based addition to its genomic analysis product suite. According to the company, the platform provides users with access to more than 130 annotation features and lets them search, filter, and annotate their variant files rapidly — it annotates variants based on information in databases such as the Human Gene Mutation Database, ClinVar, the Catalogue of Somatic Mutations in Cancer, and others. Also, users can define and save custom and multi-level filters using any combination of important associations and functional databases available on the platform.

Waters has launched the NuGenesis Lab Management System, a new informatics solution that the company is positioning as an alternative to a traditional Laboratory Information Management System.

Features in the system include NuGenesis SampleShare, which is a web-client for sample submissions and results management; NuGenesis Stability, a stability protocol management and testing solution; NuGenesis Connectors, a bi-directional link between lab systems and business applications; and Paradigm Scientific Search, a fully integrated scientific search solution for text, documents and science objects.

DNAnexus has updated its cloud-based genomic analysis platform to include new instance types and it is offering reduced pricing for its existing cloud instances and cloud storage.
