Digital Gene Technologies Closes $22 M Placement

A JOLLA, Calif.--Privately held Digital Gene Technologies said it would use $22 million that it secured in a recent private placement to accelerate deployment of its automated assay technology and to advance its bioinformatics development.

Digital Gene’s Total Gene Expression Analysis product is a patented method of identifying and determining the concentration of genes active in a sample cell or tissue.

The company said it self-managed the oversubscribed third round of financing, which brought in capital from current shareholders and new investors. Since its inception in 1995 Digital Gene has raised $34 million.
