Definiens, Leica in High-Content Analysis Partnership

By a GenomeWeb staff reporter

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Definiens and Leica Microsystems announced today announced a co-marketing deal aimed at providing customers with streamlined high-content analysis.

The alliance includes Leica's automated confocal instruments and Definiens' Developer XD analysis software. The firms said they will cooperatively market their products and host joint workshops and educational events.

"The combination of high-sensitivity confocal technology, miniaturized sample handling, and reproducible evaluation with optimized data management is a sine qua non among drug discovery strategies and the analysis of their physiological relevance," Stefan Traeger, managing director of the life science division of Leica Microsystems, said in a statement.

Financial and other terms of the alliance were not disclosed.
