Compendia has hired several new managers (see feature story, this issue, for further details on the company’s growth strategy): David Denny, previously product manager of Gene Logic’s Genesis enterprise gene expression analysis package, has joined as director of product management; Peter Wyngaard, who previously worked at web development company InterConnect, is now vice president of product development; Matt Anstett, previously life sciences market manager at Spotfire, is vice president of scientific applications; and Colleen Kincaid-Beal, formerly director of clinical data programming at i3 Statprobe, is director of operations.
 

 
Gregory Schiffman has joined the board of directors of Entelos and will lead the board’s audit committee as chair. Simon Best, the current chair of the committee, will step down as chair but will remain on the committee.
 
Schiffman is CFO of Dendreon. Prior to that, he was CFO and executive vice president at Affymetrix and vice president and controller for Applied Biosystems. Schiffman has also held senior management positions at Hewlett Packard and IBM
 

 
BioWisdom has appointed Jack Reynolds as chairman of the board of its Safety Intelligence Program. Reynolds recently retired from Pfizer where he was senior vice president of research and development and worldwide head of safety sciences and comparative medicine. At BioWisdom, Reynolds will advise the company on the development and implementation of its Safety Intelligence Program, a safety-assessment technology platform.
