Daniel Chagnovich has joined Velcura Therapeutics as senior scientist, bioinformatics. Prior to joining Velcura, Chagnovich was a scientist in the molecular technologies group at Pfizer’s Global Research and Development Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Christopher Hendrie of Waterloo, Ontario-based Bioinformatics Solutions, took second place at Google’s second annual Code Jam programming competition on Nov. 14. First place, and $10,000, went to Jimmy Mardell, who works for information retrieval company Elucidon.
