Cyrus Harmon, vice president of computational genomics at Affymetrix, is taking a three-year leave to complete a PhD in genetics at the University of California, Berkeley. Harmon dropped out of grad school five years ago to launch Neomorphic, the bioinformatics company that Affymetrix acquired last year.
